Why Perth is the best city in Australia:
This is especially for Fatima.
1. Perth has a very pretty blue river. The Swan River is one of the cleanest rivers in the world. Our river is also not overly commercialised, unlike Melbourne. It is great because you can do so many water activities in it, such as sailing, jet skiing, surfcatting, kite surfing, etc.
2. The people in Perth are quite nice and friendly.
3. There an area in Perth where you can get free public transport. Free buses are also provided around the city which comes very frequently. Free public transport is not limited to a bus ride to the casino, unlike Sydney and Melbourne.
4. The best view of Perth does not belong to some corporation - it belongs to the public.
5. There are a lot of gardens and parks in Perth and it's surrounding suburbs. In Perth city itself, there are around 44 different types of birdlife.
6. There isn't much of a gang problem in Perth, as opposed to cities such as Melbourne.
7. The weather is usually absolutely fantastic!
8. We have a better food, wine, and beer region.
9. We have a long and gorgeous coastline. There are reefs that rival the Great Barrier Reef. The surf is fantastic too.
10. You don't feel like you're trapped in the rat race compared to other cities, when you work in Perth.
11. The suburbs in Perth are not concentrated by a particular ethnic group. It's fairly multicultural.
12. Perth is the home of Australian soccer. *w00t!* I'm sorry. I really am a soccer fan, so I had to put this in. The Perth Glory haven't been around for many years, but we seem to dominate the NSL. (In your face, Parra Power! Losers on home soil! haha)

You forgot to mention that Perth is far more boring than Melbourne ;) As is very city except Sydney, but they don't count because they're loud and vulgar.

actually i find melbourne rather boring. when im there... i just want to go elsewhere - even just to tassie for a few days!

from my "bro" in brissie: Perth is the host city for the 2004 IVCF. It's a nice city. We like it. Prettier than Melbourne, nicer climate than Brisbane, more tall buildings than Adelaide, quieter than Sydney, fewer politicians than Canberra... and further north than Hobart. Got it all, really.

I've lived all over the world including Melbourne twice so far the best place I've found is Perth. It has the best climate theres very little traffic problems and the beaches are awesome. Melbourne is too busy, grey, and dull. Chocolate brown is not a good colour for wateri prefer the crystal clear Swan any day. Perth for the Best City In The World.
